## Our Mission

Our mission is to provide practical file tools without unnecessary software installs, forced accounts, or hidden processing behavior. Core tools remain genuinely useful for free; paid features are reserved for larger files and advanced outcomes that require server processing.

## On-device and Server Processing

Tools labeled On-device processing handle the selected file entirely in the browser. The selected file is not uploaded to FileLume for processing.

Four clearly labeled Pro tools use server processing: OCR, Office to PDF, Advanced PDF Compression, and AI Background Removal. These tools upload the file over HTTPS for the requested operation, use temporary working files, and delete the temporary directory when the request finishes, including failed requests. The configured OCR or background-removal provider may receive the file only for the requested operation.

## Performance and Accessibility

Large or unusual files can still fail because browser memory, file structure, and format decoding vary by device. We continuously improve mobile layouts, keyboard use, progress feedback, error recovery, and honest result reporting.

## Sustainable Development

FileLume is supported by advertising and optional Pro subscriptions. Ads must stay outside dropzones, settings, progress, recovery, result actions, and download controls. Live billing is enabled only after the full test subscription lifecycle has passed QA.
