Privacy Policy

This policy explains the difference between on-device processing, server processing, analytics, advertising, and account billing at FileLume.

**Policy owner:** FileLume Product & Engineering · **Last reviewed:** July 13, 2026

## On-device Processing

For tools labeled On-device processing, the selected file is processed entirely in your browser and is not uploaded to FileLume. Active files, previews, and generated object URLs exist only in browser memory for the session and are cleared when the workflow or tab is closed or reloaded.

## Server Processing

For tools labeled Secure server processing, the selected file is uploaded over HTTPS to the FileLume processing service. Temporary working files are created only for the requested operation and the temporary directory is deleted when the request finishes, including failed requests. Source and output files are not intentionally added to FileLume product storage.

OCR and background-removal tools can send the file to the configured specialist provider for that operation. The exact processing mode, provider purpose, deletion behavior, and current file limit are shown on the tool page before processing.

## Accounts and Billing

Core tools do not require an account. When you voluntarily sign in for Pro, Supabase stores account identity and plan state. Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record for checkout, payment methods, tax calculation and remittance, invoices, renewal state, and cancellation. FileLume stores Lemon Squeezy customer/subscription identifiers and subscription status, but does not receive or store full card details.

## Analytics

FileLume uses Vercel Analytics with low-cardinality product events. Analytics must not include filenames, file contents, extracted text, passwords, or a stable cross-session user identifier. Local return-state counters and safe tool settings may be stored in your browser and can be cleared there.

## Advertising and Cookies

Advertising is disabled until the publisher account, production ads.txt line, and applicable consent configuration are ready. When ads are enabled, third-party advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies according to the consent choices and privacy controls presented for the user’s region.

## Your Rights and Contact

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or export personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is used. Contact **support@filelume.com**. Do not email sensitive files unless FileLume support specifically requests one and explains why it is needed.

## Changes

We update this policy when processing, analytics, advertising, account, or billing behavior changes. The last-reviewed date above identifies the current operational review.
