• The browser reads the image, draws it to a canvas, and exports a new file using the selected MIME type.
• Conversion changes the file encoding; it does not improve source detail or restore lost quality.

Common errors and fixes

Transparency disappeared.

Convert to PNG or WebP instead of JPG.

The converted file is larger.

The image cannot be decoded.
